McKenzie Approach for Spinal Injuries

Our staff includes credentialed McKenzie physical therapists who have completed a 15-day Program of Certification including a multilevel testing examination with written and performance components designed to assess the clinical knowledge and skills developed by the practitioner. The McKenzie method of management of spinal injuries is an active patient treatment philosophy that emphasizes prevention and intervention and encourages patients to be in control of their own treatment.

Our physical therapists have trained with Roy Matheson & Associates in administering Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE).

FCEs are a structured process of observing and measuring an individual performing tasks in order to identify performance deficits and safety issues, functional abilities, strengths, skills, and capacity to perform specific work-related tasks.

Isokinetic Testing

Biodex assessments of physical impairments prior to initiating and during a rehabilitation program assures the fastest, most effective return to the desired level of function. Isokinetic testing can be utilized to produce clear and concise objective measurements of strength and endurance following orthopedic surgeries such as ACL reconstruction.

We also have occupational therapists on board who use self-care, work, and play activities to increase independent function, enhance development, and prevent disability. Occupational therapy may include adaptation of a task or environment to achieve maximum independence and to enhance quality of life.

Circuit Training
Circuit training is a wide variety of upper and lower extremity conditioning machines for both endurance and strength training. Functional training is indicated for patients requiring proprioceptive and dynamic rehabilitation.
